Description
This Glenfarclas Single Malt whisky is aged for 8 years, and it's important to note that these are 8 full years spent in Sherry casks, not just a 6-month finish.
This whisky deserves your full attention due to the genuine magic that Sherry cask aging imparts to Speyside whiskies. Something quite unique happens in these casks.
On the nose, you'll find dried fruits, nuts, and spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. All of this is confirmed on the palate with a plethora of flavors ranging from hazelnut, almond, raisins, and dried apricot, accompanied by notes of salted butter caramel.
Glenfarclas is quite unique because it's one of the last distilleries to remain faithful to aging its single malts in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks. It's also unique because its whiskies are rarely found in blends or bottled by independent bottlers. Their old stocks contribute to a collection of vintage cask strength releases.
