Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil La Contrie 2022 Domaine Audebert: the pure expression of Cabernet Franc
Domaine Audebert’s Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil “La Contrie” 2022 is made from vines growing on gravelly and sandy soils, which give the wine its finesse and fruity character. This 2022 vintage, made from 100% Cabernet Franc, benefited from favourable weather conditions that allowed the grapes to ripen beautifully whilst retaining the typical freshness of the Loire.
The nose opens with intense aromas of raspberry, cherry and redcurrant, accompanied by floral and slightly vegetal notes. On the palate, the attack is supple and fruity, followed by a light yet well-defined structure. The tannins are fine, almost silky, and contribute to the wine’s overall elegance. The finish is fresh, clean and lingering on red fruit.
This Loire red wine is particularly versatile at the table. It pairs perfectly with charcuterie, white meats, grilled poultry or even slightly spicy vegetarian dishes.
