Description
3 Fonteinen Framboise is a lambic beer produced by the 3 Fonteinen brewery in Belgium. This beer is the result of macerating whole hand-picked raspberries on young lambic for at least four months, in a proportion of one kilogram of fruit per litre of lambic. The raspberry lambic is then blended with younger lambic to obtain a minimum fruit strength of 35% and bottled immediately afterwards. The bottles are then stored in the cellar for at least five months.
With aromas of forest fruits as the beer warms in the glass, 3 Fonteinen Framboos will age perfectly, but may lose some of the vibrant colours and aromas . This lambic beer is unfiltered and unpasteurised. It is completely natural, with no artificial juices, syrups or added sugars. Traditional lambic is a living cultural heritage rooted in the Zenne valley.

The 3 Fonteinen brewery was founded in 1887 as a café and lambic producer. They made gueuze by blending young and old lambics acquired from other breweries. The company was acquired in 1953 by Gaston De Belder, who expanded the business with a restaurant. In the early 1980s, Gaston died and the business was inherited by his sons Armand and Guido. Armand took over the running of the factory and continued the tradition of blending lambics. Today, they not only blend lambics, but also brew their own beers. The Boon, Girardin, Lindemans and Cantillon breweries supply them with the lambics for their blends and gueuzes.
