La Débauche’s Double Belge is a 7% ABV craft amber beer, inspired by the Belgian Dubbel style. On tasting, it reveals a rich malty character with flavours of caramel, biscuit, chocolate and coffee, complemented by hints of spice and vanilla. Unfiltered and unpasteurised, it retains all its character. Its 75 cl bottle is perfect for sharing. A generous and complex beer that pairs equally well with spicy dishes, a cheese platter or a chocolate dessert.
Description
La Débauche Double Belge 75 cl is an iconic creation from Brasserie La Débauche, based in Angoulême in the Charente. This Belgian-inspired craft amber beer has an alcohol content of 7% ABV and offers a particularly full-bodied drinking experience. It is brewed without filtration or pasteurisation, to preserve its character and rich aroma.
Inspired by the Belgian Dubbel style, this beer emphasises malts and deep flavours. On the nose, it presents a full-bodied, malty profile with notes of roasted malt, caramel, vanilla and chocolate. On the palate, the malty character comes through with flavours of caramel and biscuit, accompanied by hints of chocolate and coffee. The finish becomes drier and toasty, with subtle notes of spice and vanilla.
The Double Belge is therefore a particularly interesting beer for connoisseurs of craft beers. Its 7% ABV gives it power, whilst its rich malty character lends it real depth. It does not rely solely on bitterness: its appeal lies in the balance between the grains, the roasted notes and the indulgent flavours.
Brasserie La Débauche, founded in July 2013 in Angoulême, has built its reputation on a creative approach to craft beer. Its range includes a wide variety of beers, from IPAs to stouts, as well as Belgian-style beers, sour beers and barrel-aged beers. The Double Belge exemplifies this desire to explore different brewing styles.
Its 75 cl bottle makes it an ideal beer to share as an aperitif or during a tasting session. It also pairs well with a hearty meal. Its malty, caramelised and toasty notes pair particularly well with spiced red meats, chilli con carne, abbey cheeses and Morbier. The brewery and distributors also recommend pairing it with milk chocolate.
To fully appreciate its aromas, this beer should be served at around 9 to 11 °C. A temperature slightly higher than that of a classic lager will better bring out its notes of caramel, chocolate, coffee, spices and vanilla.
La Débauche Double Belge 75 cl craft beer is therefore aimed at lovers of rich, malty and indulgent amber beers. A beer with character that combines Belgian inspiration with the creative expertise of a French craft brewery.
