Description
This Aloxe-Corton Rouge "Les Brunettes et Planchots" 2022 by the domain of Château Philippe le Hardi offers a pretty dense ruby red color, the nose is quite powerful and it offers notes of fruit including blackcurrant and blackberries, but also spices. The palate is creamy with aromas of blackcurrant confirmed, then the liveliness of redcurrants takes over. The finish is quite long and evokes notes of undergrowth.
The Philippe le Bold estate is known for its castle with a varnished tile roof. Formerly this castle was called the Château de Santenay and was owned by the Dukes of Burgundy. The wine estate covers 98 hectares across several appellations in Côtes de Beaune and Côtes Chalonnaises.
Jean-Philippe Archambaud, formerly of Chapoutier and Louis Latour, has overseen the destiny of this beautiful estate since 2019.
