1902 date of creation of Clos du Marquis Saint Julien
The creation of Clos du Marquis dates from 1902. Contrary to what we believe this wine is not the second wine of Château Léoville Las Cases, it is a wine from the estate with its own characteristics. It is made under the same conditions as Léoville Las Cases but from grapes from the western area of the estate. The characteristics are sufficiently different there to justify not assembling them with the fruit of the rest of the vineyard which produces the Léoville Las Cases style.
