Vintage Ports

Vintage Ports are the rarest and most exceptional Ports of all

First of all, only 3% of the production of Port wines are Vintage, these Ports come from the most prestigious terroirs. The Port Wines Institute decides to declare an exceptional year as being "Vintage" and then the Port Wine Houses and Quintas decide to vintage part of their production or not. Vintage in English is called "Vintage". A vintage can be tasted with red meats and Game but also blue cheese and chocolate desserts.

A Vintage Port must be kept for at least 10 years and can age in the cellar for several dozen years
