Drive cheaper by filling your tank with wine at Calais Vins

- Categories : The Wine Calais Blog

The price per liter of Gas Oil and Super now exceeds the price of a liter of wine !!!

An invention by Thierry who works at Calais Vins revolutionizes everything.

Indeed, this "Gyro Gearloose", feeling the inexorable rise in fuel prices, has developed a box to adapt to the engine of his vehicle. This simple box (not so simple as that all the same since it will have taken 2 years of development to develop it ....) allows you to run on Wine and no longer on Super or Gas Oil.

This box is available for purchase in stores, but it is best to make an appointment with your mechanic to install it.

Faced with this success, and seeing more and more customers refueling in the Calais Vins car park with 10-litre Bag in Box wine, the Calais Vins store decided to equip itself with a brand new service station with the choice between different "types" of fuel/variety. The site manager says "We had to step up a gear and equip ourselves with professional equipment, it was becoming untenable! ".

The notion of customer advice so dear to the Calais Vins team

Stéphane and Aurélie declare together "the advice dimension remains just as important to fill up! Stéphane explains that "if a customer wants a fuel in line with his driving, combining power and flexibility when changing gears, he will recommend a full tank of 70% Syrah and 30% Merlot". Aurélie takes the floor again, explaining that "customers attached to the protection of the environment can drive with ORGANIC wine".

The only current limitation due to installation with the enclosure is as follows. A slight clogging of the carburettors has been observed... Marc advises to fill up with white or rosé every 5 or 6 fill-ups in order to take advantage of the freshness and slight natural acidity of these wines to solve this problem.

The overall benefits of this new fuel/varietal are indisputable:

- Local Consumption: by supporting the French wine industry.

- An energy is totally renewable: thanks to the vegetative cycle of the vine.

- Energy independence: France has one of the largest vineyards in the world, it's a real asset!

- Our cities will smell good: Imagine!!! You will be able to breathe in the delicate notes of small red fruits (currant – raspberry) emitted by the exhaust fumes of a car having filled up with Cinsault, or even the aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits at the back of a delivery van running on Sauvignon!!

This nascent ecosystem wine vs gazole is of interest in many respects to several sectors.

Carmakers are already adapting!

The next new vehicles will be equipped with refrigerating tanks and an outside tap under the tank hatch (to help yourself to a glass of chilled rosé) and the hybrid vehicles will be equipped with sockets for connecting an electric barbecue.

A Burgundian start-up company in the spotlight.

This start-up company calle Vinoleo , supported by the CIVB (Comité Interprofessionnel des Vins de Bourgogne) is targeting the world of hyper luxury, it has raised 2 million euros to develop two "fuels".

The first will be composed exclusively of Chablis Grand Crus, Meursault, Chassagne Montrachet and Puligny Montrachet, and the second, more full-bodied will be composed of Pommard, Gevrey Chambertin, Nuits St Georges and Vosne Romanée.

This start-up works on a selective distribution network. The price per liter has not yet been communicated. However, we bet that this external sign of great wealth will interest the oligarchs of all nationalities and even (it would be a nice snub to history) the princely families of golf.

And ....... if you arrived at the end of this article by believing in this story of box and wine-fuel or fuel-wine, know that it was our April Fool 2022.

That said, a good glass of wine surrounded by friends is excellent fuel for life, but be careful to consume in moderation.....
