Rum HSE Agricole Rum from Martinique

HSE rum stands for (Habitation Saint-Étienne)

Rum HSE is an agricultural rum from Martinique. Martinique benefits from an AOC for the production of its rums, and in accordance with the specifications of the AOC, the HSE rum is exclusively produced from fresh juice of fermented sugar cane then distilled in a traditional Creole-type column. in copper. The distillery and its aqueduct are classified as a Historic Monument because the architectural ensemble represents well what was the housing and organization system of a sugar factory-distillery in Martinique. The gardens are recognized as "Remarkable Gardens" by the Ministry of Culture. It was in 1882 that Amédée Aubéry transformed the "La Maugée" sugar refinery at Gros-Morne in Saint-Joseph into an agricultural distillery. At the time, this distillery showed a lot of modernity with wagons transporting sugar canes and a stone channel carrying water from the Lézarde river for hydraulic energy and the pure water necessary for a great Agricultural Rum. The distillery changed hands several times before the Hayot brothers (Rums Clément & Distillerie du Simon) gave new life to this distillery which only produced 700 to 800 liters of rums. HSE is known for its traditional rums but also for its Rums finishes from the HSE worlds, which pass the end of their aging in casks of Islay or Highlands whiskey, Oloroso or PX sherry, Sauternes or Port.

These HSE Rums are a real innovation in the world of Rums.
