Lambig and Cider de Bretagne Eau de Vie

Purists will disapprove of any idea of a comparison between a Calvados and a Lambig. Being neither Breton nor Normand, it is very cheerfully that I allow myself to offer you to taste a very old Cider Bretonne brandy or a Lambig, in our opinion there is indeed a family resemblance with Calvados! !

A lambig is a cider brandy made in Brittany

The brandy is obtained by distillation of cider. If this brandy is left to age in oak barrels for a minimum of 4 years, it takes the appellation of Fine de Bretagne. It usually takes the equivalent of a 225-liter cask of cider to obtain 20 liters of cider brandy or Lambig.
