This alcohol is obtained by distillation of a dry white wine from the 3 main grape varieties of the area that are Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Folle Blanche.

Armagnac is a grape brandy produced in a South West Region of France Called Gascony. Armagnac is a eau-de-vie from the departments of Gers, Landes and Lot et Garonne. This alcohol is obtained by distillation of a dry white wine from the 3 main grape varieties of the area that are Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Folle Blanche.
The white alcohol thus obtained will be placed in new oak barrels. The aging should last at least 2 years in the cellars of the appellation Bas-Armagnac, Armagnac Ténarèze, Haut-Armagnac.
The legal mentions are: VS (Very Special) or 3 * for 2 years minimum, VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale) or VO (Very Old) for 5 years minimum, XO (Extra Old) for 6 years minimum and finally Hors Age for 10 years minimum.
