The Salers distillery is at the origin of the exploitation of Gentian

This root, which grows in the Auverge and Jura mountains, is used as a liqueur and as an aperitif towards the end of the 19th century. Since the Greeks, this root has been known for its healing properties for intestinal and hepatic disorders, but also for its anti-inflammatory properties in dermatology.

The major brands that use gentian in their composition are:
