Le Pousse Rapière is an Armagnac liqueur flavored with bitter orange. Invented in the 1960s, this liqueur is an exclusive production of Château Monluc. It is part of the composition of wild wine. The term Pousse-Rapière is a tribute to the Gascons of the 16th century who skillfully wielded this sword. The rapier is the first thrusting weapon, a weapon used to attack the enemy, unlike the weapons of size, heavy swords of the Middle Ages used in the manner of axes to defend oneself. The expression at the time said that one "pushed the rapier" towards the enemy. It was brought back by the Gascons during the Italian campaigns under François I. It is also the ancestor of the sword of the musketeers, brought back by d'Artagnan to the court of France.
