The vineyard Juraçien covers about 2000 hectares, it is one of the smallest vineyard in France. This being the case, it is not the least interesting because it is the fief of the Savagnin grape which is the base of this great wine which is the Yellow Wine whose Château-Chalon sold in 62 cl Clavelin bottles. The Savagnin associated with Chardonnay gives most of the Côtes du Jura white. The red wines are made from Poulsard and Trousseau grapes, but also from Pinot Noir. The continental climate that prevails in this region gives surprisingly ripe reds marked by notes of black fruits including peppery blackcurrant. L'Arbois is one of the appellation wines of Jura.
